While simple in concept, DNS reports can provide valuable insight into what a user or device on your network is doing and how often. Almost all traffic flows are initiated with a DNS lookup to an authoratative name server. This lookup is captured by Netify as a separate flow and used to provide metrics on what is happening on your network.
Should the packet analyzer fail to identify the protocol or application in a flow, DNS reports can be used as a 'catch all'. Domains in the DNS report can be matched against a list of the most-common website and applications that allows Netify to report the application or service and access time.
